Parish Life at St Clare's

Through fellowship we strive to develop a closer relation with our fellow brothers and sisters.

By participating in social and Mass activities with each other, with our community, and with our Lord Jesus Christ, we are able to strengthen the bonds that join us to our Catholic Faith.

Jesus said “That when two or more are gathered in my name, there will I be also.” Matthew 18:20

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

John 6:51

I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.

John 15

No longer shall I call you servants, for a servant knows not what his master does. Now I shall call you friends, for I have revealed to you all that I have heard from my Father.

Parishioners welcoming parishioners is the goal of this ministry. To have each person welcomed as they arrive for Mass sets the tone for a celebration in fellowship with each other and with God.

Volunteers are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their assigned mass. All you need to be a parish greeter is a bright smile and a warm handshake.

The ushers at St. Clare’s are there to ensure that many facets behind the scenes are dealt with so parishioners are comfortable and that the Mass runs smoothly. The ushers are responsible for seating people before Mass, selecting a family to take up the offertory gifts, ensuring the collection happens quickly and efficiently and handing out bulletins after Mass.

The unofficial responsibilities of the ushers range from dealing with parking issues, emergency clean-ups, attending to medical issues, adjustment of the lighting system, crowd control at Easter & Christmas Masses and even making impromptu repairs to the Church if a problem may interfere with the Mass.
